Erasmus Medical Breakthrough Fund

The Erasmus Medical Breakthrough Fund is an innovative fund that bridges the gap between scientific research and practical applications in healthcare. It supports promising medical innovations from Erasmus MC, also in collaboration with TU Delft, that are still in the research phase but have the potential to be brought to the market. The fund distinguishes itself through a unique model in which donors can also participate as investors later when an innovation becomes marketable. This approach promotes the 'learn, earn, return' principle and offers structural evaluation via milestones, so that resources are effectively deployed to force breakthroughs that might otherwise remain 'on the shelf'.
